Our experienced Regional Consultants deliver customized training sessions in communities across the province, whether in Retirement Homes, Long-term Care facilities, community settings or to agencies/ organizations that work or interact with seniors.
Our staff will work with you, to customize sessions to meet your needs and around your scheduling requirements, to better equip staff, volunteers and administrative managers with the knowledge and tools necessary to recognize, respond to, prevent or report incidents of elder abuse.
Receiving the proper training is critical in successfully detecting, intervening and preventing elder abuse cases. We encourage all those working with older adults to receive training on elder abuse and neglect, to build greater awareness in the community.
Designed for groups of 15 or more participants, EAO can provide training through various formats:
Please contact the Regional Consultant in your area (local contact information may be found under the Staff Directory tab) or through the Elder Abuse Ontario Head Office (T: 1-416-916-6728) to get more information.
Advance Bookings are required, ideally with a minimum of 2-3 weeks notice before the intended date of the training. EAO will work with you to design the best training modules to meet your needs, including the preparation of a master Training Package to be reproduced by you, in advance of the session.
Your agency’s role is to look after the Registration of participants, arrangment of the venue/site, provision of audiovisual equipment to support the presentation and printing the appropriate number of handouts.
EAO and/or the hosting Agency may opt to charge participants a modest fee, to cover incidental expenses or to partner with other local agencies to sponsor the event.
